The Lanka Hospitals Academy (LHA) was established in 2019 and founded with the vision to train and produce skilled healthcare professionals and to cater to the healthcare sector in Sri Lanka and the South Asian Region which is fast expanding.
Each of our programmes are designed to offer comprehensive training to our students in both theoretical and practical aspects and to enable them to become experts in their respective fields in medicine. LHA offers clinical training within Lanka Hospitals’ premises in a fully-equipped clinical setting that serves as an essential requirement to train healthcare professionals. Full-time and part-time courses are offered to school leavers, graduate students & others who intend to pursue a career in the healthcare industry.
The programmes offered at Lanka Hospitals Academy are meticulously designed and conducted by some of Sri Lanka’s top medical and educational professionals. These include experienced medical specialists, senior professionals at Lanka Hospitals and prominent local universities. LHA provides an ideal environment to train and nurture young men and women to become healthcare professionals in the vastly growing health sector.
LHA offers an array of educational programmes. The Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing is the most successful teaching programme managed by LHA and it is also one of the most successful nursing schools in the private health sector in Sri Lanka. Over the last 15 years the school has produced numerous professional nurses at a high-quality standard.
Other Programmes in Lanka Hospitals Academy
Other programmes conducted by LHA include the Diploma in Hospital and Community Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology and the Certificate Course in Phlebotomy, First Aid and Basic Life Support and Caregiver Training among others. In addition to these, other tailor-made training programmes are offered for leading national organisations on request.
LHA also offers Observership Programmes for students who wish to pursue a degree in medicine. This is available to students who have completed their G.C.E advanced level in both local and international schools as well as foreign universities. This programme aims to educate students on the basics of clinical medicine and prepares them for the journey in healthcare that they wish to embark.
LHA has also partnered with leading universities and educational institutions in Sri Lanka and in South Asian to provide clinical training for their respective healthcare programmes.
The Lanka Hospitals Academy is currently located at Lanka Hospitals’ Administration Complex at No. 598, Elvitigala Mawatha, Narahenpita, Colombo 05 in close proximity to the hospital. Our premises include the LHA administrative office,
