Overview of the course

Our FdA Games Art is designed for those who want a career in the growing games industry. Game artists create the visual elements of an interactive computer game, crafting assets like 2D graphics, 3D characters and environment models, surface textures and user interface components. This course will give you the opportunity to experience a range of techniques and software used in the games industry, while developing specialist skills to support career goals within your chosen art role.The modules of this course will allow you to form a solid understanding of the role of the artist in the current global games industry.This course is taught at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies in Nottingham.Key featuresBe trained on the latest industry-standard software and hardware such as Autodesk suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and games engines such as Unreal and Unity.The course includes elements of project management and industry workflow that will enhance your career aspirationsStudy in IT suites with industry standard software, designed to provide a professional games studio environment.Benefit from regular guest lectures and workshops from industry professionals working in both AAA and independent markets.Have access to Confetti’s annual Industry Week, where previous guests have included Splash Damage, Rockstar and Playstation.Take part in enrichment activities including expo trips and game-jams.

For students from Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan A/Levels, English language entry requirements are Sri Lankan GCE A-Level: Grade C, IELTS 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in each component or alternative English language qualification accepted by the University at the appropriate grade Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.

For international students

IELTS (Academic only) – 7.0 (or better) (no component lower than 7.0); TOEFL (paper based) – 600 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) – 250 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) – 95 (or better) (with 22 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) – 65 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 65); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE – Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE)/ 185 or above. No less than 185 in each skill.
