Overview of the course

This course is designed for people already employed in education roles and draws on the knowledge and experience gained through this employment. It specifically intends to meet the needs and interests of those who want to combine employment with further learning to enhance their future career. Students must be employed in an education setting for a minimum of 15 hours a week for the duration of the course.This two year, part-time foundation degree is designed to support, develop and extend your academic learning as a foundation for professional development. You will undertake small tasks and projects within your own working environment to support module sessions and assignments.

For students from Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan A/Levels, English language entry requirements are Sri Lankan GCE A-Level: Grade C, IELTS 6.0 with minimum of 5.5 in each component or alternative English language qualification accepted by the University at the appropriate grade Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course

For international students

IELTS (Academic only) – 7.0 (or better) (no component lower than 7.0); TOEFL (paper based) – 600 (or better) (with a minimum Test of Written English Score of TWE 5); TOEFL (electronic or computer based) – 250 (or better) (with essay rating of at least 5); TOEFL (internet based) – 95 (or better) (with 22 minimum in all bands); Pearson (PTE Academic) – 65 (or better) (with no communicative score less than 65); Cambridge English Scale Scores for FCE, CAE and CPE – Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE)/ 185 or above. No less than 185 in each skill.
