Description

Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, was officially invited to offer this course to its new recruiting staff by ‘Suwa Seriya’ emergency ambulance service. The Division of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Management (DACCPM), Department of Surgery, and the Department of Pharmacology are the coordinating departments in conducting the course.
This course intends to recruit 50 students per cycle.
Candidates who complete the diploma will be recruited by the ‘Suwa Seriya’ ambulance service for their permanent carder as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).
EMTs with this diploma provide emergency care in the pre-hospital setting, which is a vital link in our healthcare system until the patient is handed over to an established health care facility in the country. The course will contribute to saving people’s lives in Sri Lanka.
