he Certificate in Hospitality Skills is designed to provide students with a basic foundation for further studies towards a career in the Hospitality Industry. The modules are designed to address key areas for students entering the industry and are a mix of both theoretical and practical skills. The qualification also acts as a progression route towards the Diploma in International Hospitality Management.

The aims of this programme are to:

Provide students with specialised language for Hospitality Management
Enable students to communicate more effectively
Enable students to develop an appreciation and understanding of the basic principles and practices of food and beverage service
Enable students to develop an appreciation and understanding of the basic principles and practices of hotel housekeeping
Prepare students for further studies

Requirements

Minimum age 17 years at time of commencement of programme
Min of 3 GEC ‘O’ levels (C6 or better) or equivalent
IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
Students, who have other qualifications, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
Minimum English Language Entry Requirement : Equivalent qualification i.e IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
