The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) is the leading Professional Institution in Sri Lanka in Supply Chain Management Profession, which has been established on 24th October 1972. ISMM has been incorporated by an act of Parliament in 1981. The institute fosters the professional development of Purchasing and Supply Management function in Sri Lanka. ISMM is a member of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) based in UK encompassing 45 member associations with 250,000 members and a member of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka since 1976. ISMM is affiliated to the International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva to offer their Modular Learning System in supply chain Management in Sri Lanka. It is also registered under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) under reference P01/0160.
It has been the Diploma awarding National Body for the last two decades in Sri Lanka, in addition to conducting other specialised short courses, adding more than 10,000 specialists to the profession of Supply Chain Management in Sri Lanka. The latest contribution to logistics and supply chain professionals is Advanced Diploma in Logistics and Warehouse Management, which is a one year course, covering ten important areas.
