What is OET?
The Occupational English Test [OET] is an English Language Assessment accepted predominantly in Australia and several other English speaking countries including the United Kingdom. Professionals from 12 different health care fields / specializations who seek to study, work or migrate to certain countries can use OET as evidence of their English Language proficiency.
For whom is OET?
OET is specifically designed for professionals in Dentistry, Dietetics, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography, Speech Pathology and Veterinary Science.
Why take OET?
OET is specifically designed to assess key language skills of healthcare professionals in order to ensure optimized communication when practising in an English speaking environment. The assessment is mainly based on the use of English language in situations specific to different professions in health care sector.
Who recognizes OET?
OET is accepted as proof of English language competence of health care professionals by government immigration authorities, healthcare boards and councils as well as higher education institutes in several English speaking countries. Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection ; Medical Board of Australia; University of Queensland, Australia; General Medical Council, United Kingdom are some of these bodies that fully recognize OET. Test Venue
ACBT is the only test venue for OET in Sri Lanka. The test is available at ACBT Colombo and Kandy campuses.
Preparation Courses
