Slicca the International award winning institute which was previously known as the finest bakes institute was established in the year of 2012 on the 5th day of May.
The institute gained popularity as the pioneers in one day culinary workshop in Sri Lanka. The Founder/Directress Dr. Fathima Rushda introduced more short courses in Cake decorating, Pastry & Bakery and International cookery creating more opportunities for many ladies across the country to become independent home baker with over 12000 students graduating up to date.
Finest bakes institute started the first International operation in 2016 with Paul Bradford training UK, Qualifying students with diplomas in cake decorating. Later the institute was affiliated with the Oxford collage of management in UK, on Sky Global USA to provide wide recognition in cakes and hospitality management.
The bachelors in hospitality management is recognized with UGC/WEC and the international associates of universities providing students with internship in the field of hospitality management.
Slicca has managed a smooth partnership program with American academy of project management USA, to award certifications in international recognized qualified business coach program, Masters in project management and now the institute has the exclusive authority to run the masters in nutrition and culinary program in the country.
Slicca has extended its affiliation across the country enabling students to master their skills. Our affiliation branches are based in Galle, Matara, Kandy, Mawanella, Puttalam, Kurunegala,Vavuniya, Batticaloa and Ampara.
Slicca started the online culinary school in 2021 creating more opportunities to educate all distant learners from home and abroad through the digital platform and Slicca remains the pioneers in online culinary education in the country.
The institute host two annual graduation ceremonies qualifying over 350 students every 6 months followed by the ultimate sugar show in the country. Slicca takes the honor in hosting the prestigious Sri Lanka cake award for the 6th consecutive year recognizing talents of all bakers across the country.
2023 will be another milestone for the institute in the initiative of hosting the Asia Cake Oscars in connecting all the cake artist across Asia into one prestigious awards night.
