HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN NURSING – NVQ LEVEL 06

Faculty of Health Sciences has successfully initiated a CINEC Higher National Diploma (HND) Course in Nursing. It is a professional pathway for students who are seeking to obtain higher national qualifications up to degree level. Participants will greatly benefit from the experience of undergoing the educational programs offered by the Department of Health and Medical Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, CINEC Campus, Malabe. This Higher National Diploma is designed for students to as per the NVQ level 6 guidelines to develop a good understanding of professional nursing practice and the importance of applying the knowledge and skills into the practice in the professional nursing field in Sri Lanka and other countries. This program is designed as per the upcoming demand in professional nursing officers for the local and foreign job market.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Students are required to obtain simple passes in three subjects at the Advanced Level examinations (Edexcel / Cambridge / Local or equivalent) obtained at one and the same sitting in the Bio-Science stream AND  
• Pass in the aptitude test conducted by CINEC AND  
• Successful passing at an Interview conducted by a Board of Academic Panel.
